Job Title: Workday Technical Lead

Department: Human Resources / Information Technology

Reports To: HRIS Manager / IT Manager

Summary:

The Workday Technical Lead is a key player in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our Workday HCM (Human Capital Management) system. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Configuration:

  • Lead the technical design and configuration of Workday modules, including but not limited to HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Talent, and Recruiting.

  • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to meet business needs.

  • Design and implement integrations between Workday and other enterprise systems.

  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide expert-level technical support to resolve complex Workday issues.

  • Troubleshoot integrations, data issues, and system errors.

  • Partner with Workday support to escalate and resolve critical problems.

  • Upgrades and Enhancements:

  • Lead the planning and execution of Workday system upgrades and new feature implementations.

  • Stay informed about Workday updates and recommend enhancements to optimize system performance.

  • Data Management and Security:

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Workday.

  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive employee data.

  • Manage user access and permissions in accordance with company policies.

  • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with HR functional teams to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Partner with IT to ensure seamless integration with other enterprise systems.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Documentation:

  • Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, including system configurations, integrations, and troubleshooting guides.

Skillset and Qualifications:

  • Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM system configuration and implementation.

  • Proven track record in designing and developing custom Workday reports, dashboards, and integrations.

  • Experience with Workday Studio, EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), and Workday security is highly desirable.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Workday data models, business processes, and security framework.

  • Proficiency in XML, XSLT, web services (REST, SOAP), and SQL.

  • Knowledge of HR processes and best practices.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  • Workday Pro certification.

  • Experience with other HRIS systems.

  • Experience in a global organization.
